2016 ELM Scholarship Award for Leadership Appreciation

Terms and Conditions

Elite Lawyer Management (“Sponsor”) sponsors an annual scholarship award contest (“Contest”) for individuals planning to enter an institution of higher-learning (“Entrants”). Entrants must include a statement in the entry email that they have read and agree to the following Terms and Conditions to be eligible to apply. By participating, Entrants agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions and the decisions of the Sponsor.

Parent/Guardian Permission

Entrants under age 18 must have a parent or guardian’s permission to enter the Contest and parent or guardian must agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

Eligibility

The Contest is open to Entrants of all ages who plan to attend an institution of higher-learning (community college, university, vocational institution) in 2016/2017.  Employees and immediate family members of the Sponsor are not eligible to enter. The Sponsor reserves the right to verify Entrant compliance with eligibility requirements.

How To Enter

The Contest begins on February 1, 2016. Complete entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. EST on May 15, 2016. Entrants must upload a 1-3 minute video to YouTube addressing each of the following three elements: (1) how you define leadership, (2) how have you demonstrated leadership in your school or community, and (3) how you plan to apply this award to advance your future leadership opportunities.  Video entries must be titled “Elite Lawyer Management Scholarship Award” and must include the following statement in the description: “My application for the 2016 Elite Lawyer Management Scholarship Award for Leadership Appreciation, www.elitelawyermanagement.com.” All Contest entries must be placed on YouTube using the “Public” privacy setting.

Video entries must be shared on users social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, or other platforms of choice) using both #scholarshipelm and @elitelawyermanagement tags. The following information must be emailed to [hidden email] with the subject line, ELM Scholarship Award Entry. The following must be included in the body of the email: name, mailing address, email address, phone number, YouTube URL (link to video entry), name of the college or university you plan to attend, area of study. Email must include the statement: “I have read and agree to the Terms and Conditions.” Individuals under 18 must include a statement of permission from parent or guardian.

Entries that do not include all required information and adhere to the foregoing and following requirements will be considered void and will not be considered in the judging of this Contest.

Video Requirements

Entries must be submitted in English and must be the original work of the Entrant, must not have been previously published in any format, and must not be in violation of the copyright of any other person or entity. Entrants are fully responsible for the creation of a video that does not violate local, state, or federal communication laws. Individuals under the age of 18 must have parent or guardian permission prior to uploading a video to YouTube and submitting entries. Submissions that do not comply with the YouTube Terms of Use or these Terms and Conditions or that otherwise contain prohibited, or inappropriate content as determined by the Sponsor, in its sole discretion, will be void and not be eligible for the prize.

Judging

Submissions will be judged and winners selected at the sole discretion of an impartial “Scholarship Committee” at Elite Lawyer Management. Judges’ decisions are final on all matters relating to the Contest. Judging criteria are based upon the Entrant’s ability to answer all required elements, message, originality, persuasive ability and creativity. The Scholarship Committee will evaluate all entries based on the selection criteria. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, or delayed Entries, or for technical or human errors or failures in connection with the submission, transmission or judging of Entries.

Prizes

Winner will be notified via phone or email by July 15, 2016. One winner will receive a $1,000 prize to be used for books, tuition, supplies and other college-related expenses along with an engraved plaque. Winners are solely responsible for any taxes on their respective prizes. Prizes are non-transferable. By accepting a prize in the Contest, winners agree that the Sponsor shall not be liable for any loss or injury resulting from participation in the Contest, acceptance or use of any prize.

Grant of Rights

Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission to use winners’ names, likenesses and entries for promotional and advertising purposes without further compensation, except where prohibited by law. By submitting an entry, the Entrant grants the Sponsor the right to use the content at their discretion and a non-exclusive license to copy, reproduce, use and publish the content. Entrants agree upon submission of entry materials to irrevocably assign and transfer to Sponsor any and all rights, title and interest in the entry, including, without limitation, all copyrights.

Limitations on Liability

By participating in the Contest, the Entrant releases the Sponsor from any and all claims, damages or liabilities arising from or relating to such Entrant’s participation in the Contest. The Sponsor, its agencies, affiliates, officers, directors, and employees will have no liability or responsibility for any claim arising in connection with participation in the Contest or the awarding of prizes. Winners assume all liability for any injury or damage caused, or claimed to be caused, by participation in the Contest or use or redemption of prize.
